If you want a blued Python just keep checking the marketplace here. I have to laugh watching as the prices keep coming down. Waiting for Colt to produce one of the new generation in blue could be a long time.

From what I understand all the people who knew how to do the Blue have all passed away and Colt didnt keep records on how they did it.

I've heard that and it would not surprise me, other than Colt not keeping records or procedures. It might also be Fed or state EPA restrictions now v. then.

Analagous to why Marlin lever guns have more or less turned to crap...

Two questions: is there any word on Colt putting the 2020 on the CA roster? And is there any word on them making them in blue?

I doubt they will build a blue one. They are locked into SS for these and plain old steel doesn't machine the same. Different tool angles/speeds different cutting fluid etc.

There probably will be a Night Python with DLC over stainless, much like the existing Night Cobra.

It might be awhile before the Chinese Government will get their slaves back to work. So I'd be a bit more patient
for the blued model advertisements. Unless they want to publically sub-out the work to Taurus, RIA or Norico.

This. Colt current production SAA Peacemakers are beautifully blued. I just bought one last month. BNIB.

You guys become soft, pre-order the SS now then when the "blue" come out get another one. What does happen to Calguner's slogan "buy both" ?
