    SA Ronin Operator 1911

Saw this on the SA website - yes I know it's off roster.

At a price of $850 I wonder what people will try to get for these PPT. Man this is a nice looking thing, with all the features I like.

I was contemplating getting the Loaded model or a 9mm target model but I may try to score one of these instead. Better start searching I guess.

That’s a beautiful pistol. Always a sucker for the blued/stainless/wood theme. Hopefully the CA mark up doesn’t dip into semi custom territory. Otherwise just go semi custom.

By semi-custom you mean buy off the shelf and replace parts and have it worked on? I do that to guitars all the time.

I'm getting back into guns after a hiatus so I'm still learning certain terms.

By semi custom I mean the more premium 1911s that are hand finished like Les Baers, Nighthawk, Ed Brown, and Wilson Combat. I’ve seen used Les Baers for as low as $1600. If because the Ronin is off roster and would undoubtedly be marked up, the price approaches that of a semi custom. Might as well go semi custom. But that’s just me. I’ve personally paid high prices on off roster guns because of the gotta have it factor. Totally get it.

I prefer a high grip on 1911 pistols so I would need to hold that Ronin. Also, it may get a bit slippery without some checkering on the front. I do like the sights.

Looks good. $1800 once it hits the marketplace though, might as well buy a used Baer for that price.

                Needs a light bearing rail...

Or get a stainless Mil-Spec and send to Brett.

Beautiful 1911. That wanderer will find a home in my safe given the opportunity.

Looks like a 2 tone loaded without the ambi safety to me.

Nice sights. Looks good for the price (not in calif).

It is a two toned SA Loaded 1911 with fiber optic front sight.

Thankfully, there is no rails on this one. Nowadays, anything "OPERATOR" has got an ugly square-ish rail system.

I always thought Springfield designed operator as a 1911 with rail.

Looks nice, I would totally get the 9mm version if I could (at free market pricing). All 1911 pattern should be exempt from the stupid roster.

I really like the rear sight; I'm one who likes the ability to rack the slide on the steering wheel or other places if warranted. It's a very nice looking pistol, but I'd add a ambidextrous safety.
