The new Python is coming out as 6” then 4”. Does each barrel length have to be tested separately for approval purposes? I want a 4” but still put deposit today at Turners for the 6” which I’ll keep unfired probably until I get the 4”. Have seen the vids and despite some of the negatives, looks ok to me. Having a better DAtrigger pull looks very positive. I do not like the wood grips but I’ve already got some old style Python grips that will look good. For a NIB at $1449 it’s going to have a bad effect for guys trying to sell the old style for 3K. I like the old style but for double the price I’ll adjust.

Yes, each is a different model number, so they have to be added separately. -
I would wait until COLT fixes the problems before buying one now, numerous buyers have had poor quality control or malfunctions with the new pistol.

I’ve worked on my own Pythons since the early 70s. Although the guts in the new one are not the same,I’m pretty confident I could take care of any mechanical issues inside, short of a completely destroyed part. Now if I had a frogged up muzzle crown, that is a different story but in that case I wouldn’t even take delivery of the gun, that’s something that should be readily apparent even to a casual observer.Comment

Well you're going to be waiting an awfully long time for that 4" model. They aren't going to be making one thanks to Canada. You will need to buy a 4.25" model.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. By the time they hit the roster, they will probably have all of the kinks worked out of them.I would wait until COLT fixes the problems before buying one now, numerous buyers have had poor quality control or malfunctions with the new pistol.

Such a disappointment that Colt is having problems with the new Python.
Agree that it will be awhile before they are on the roster. Time to get them worked out.Comment
