I was disappointed with my newest Colt purchase. Stainless steel Colt “Classic” .38 Super. The finish is very dull compared to some of my other stainless guns including an earlier production Delta Elite. The fit wasn’t that great either. Colt really is hit or miss.

      Enjoy your new Colt OP.

I only own one 1911, a Colt XSE bought brand new when they were still on roster.

I found the quality to be excellent on mine. Tight slide to frame fit, was still made on original factory machinery before they switched to CNC.

Blued finish, forged carbon steel frame and slide, minimum MIM parts - Only the mag catch, mag catch lock, sear and disconnector are MIM.

      Reliable with FMJ and JHP.

The wife got a NIB Mustang bout 3 -3.5 years ago. Very solid gun, We've been very pleased with it. Oozes quality in a small package:

And is. Only Colt in our stable but we'd sure buy this one again.

Are you going to be fixing all the other generic comments about Colt's quality in this thread?
You’re not too Eagle-eyed to recognize that me owning three generations of DE’s, that I’m endorsing Collt’s quality.

            You make no sense.

Several other general comments were made about Colt quality. You decided to take issue with my comment, since it wasn't specifically about a DE - ignoring all the other general comments
I've worked on Colts back before the original DE, and have owned many, including a few of recent production.
I actually machine metal and other materials for a living, and actually have a reasonable frame of reference for my comments. .

There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

Not a bad deal. And for a Colt that may be a steal!
