A couple years ago I bought a FN hipower mark 3 from aim sports, used surplus from Israel, I paid extra for one with the star of David. I been thinking of selling it but don't know if it has any collection value and I haven't seen any for sale. How much are these guns worth now days. Thank you

FN HIPOWER SURPLUS VALUE?

Some images, serial starts with 245NY, 245 for hi power 9mm NY for 1992, it looks to be a forge frame, the mag well doesn't have the grooves, the slide doesn't have a firing pin block, and a star of David just behind the trigger guard.Last edited by Domingo; 12-18-2019, 9:45 PM. -
Truthfully, given that these are out of production, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. I wouldn't pay more than $850 for a surplus gun like this (considering I bought one from the same place at the same time) but someone might be willing to pay more. I would pay more for a nice commercial gun.
I will say however, the one I have which is just like yours, and despite being a beat up surplus gun, is one of the sweetest shooters I have and instantly became one of my favorite handguns. I think we lucked out getting one without the firing pin block, nice trigger with the mag safety removed.
Edit: Yikes, should have looked at the pictures before I posted, that one is pretty rough.Last edited by comandante costello; 12-13-2019, 11:32 AM.

In good condition I would agree with the $850+. My thoughts on this one in particular would be $450-$650 depending on how badly someone wants one. I pmd op in more detail. And of course made an offer.
Of course that's just one man's opinion. I've seen it go both ways on the scale.Comment

As a C&R collector, I prefer original over refinished even if it's pretty beat up. I usually avoid refinished ones unless I was planning to make it a shooter.USMC 1985-93 0331/32 & 0341

For me, it depends on the gun. My 1952 Colt Challenger has a lot of the finish gone and I'm good with that.
My Argentine FM90, modified from a licensed HP, was missing a bunch of the finish. I had it Ceracoated. I like the way it came out.
I'd have no problems refinishing a surplus FN HP so long as it wasn't a wartime firearm. These are not.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

^^^Why go to the expense and inconvenience of refinishing? It is what it is, and a new finish will only detract-not enhance it's value.
Shoot it, enjoy it, and leave well enough alone ..Tire kickers gonna kick,
Nose pickers gonna pick

The guys that said $400-$500 would be thrilled to pick up your gun at that price, but I wouldn't sell for less (or more) than $650, and it will sell for that much. If you plan to sell, keep it as is. If you plan to keep and enjoy, go crazy, go for a nice lifetime finish like hardchrome, build her up and shoot her lots.
