I have run 8,300 rounds through my Gen 3 G17. The trigger has gotten better, and the reset feels good. I don't mind the pull weight, and I am very used to the weapon. The gun is totally stock.

As has been said many times here at CG: Shoot the darn gun, and shoot it a lot before going mod-crazy.

Glock triggers out of the box are very poor at best. Furthermore, if you are used to shooting 1911s, glock triggers suck. And,that is being overly kind.

Yes, if you shoot many thousands of rounds through it, it will get better. But, that is over a thousand $ worth of ammo to get a smooth trigger on a $495 gun.
I have seen a few glocks with just the 3.5 lbs connector and the .25 cent trigger job that had a great trigger (for a glock) feel.

Feel? What are you reading... the “Libtard Demoncrat Gun FEELING Catalogue”?? LOL! J/K

You have 2 pistols with grips being the same length. But one is much thinner. Are you positive it was the 26 and NOT the 43? I could understand that.

I went through that same learning curve.

When I first started shooting I felt I HAD to have a good trigger.

The more shooting I do, the less the trigger matters.

S&W revolver, has the up close rapid fire trigger, and the fine shooting sniper trigger.

Just ask the Issue Agency of your CCW "What can you modify your CCW pistol, then he/she will let you know" . It is depend on the county IA allowing what mod can do on the CCW. For Los Angeles county most of the time they allow to change/modify the grips and the sight, that's it.

And there is an old post about this subject some where.

Los Angeles County doesn’t issue CCWs.

It is exceedingly difficult for a law-abiding citizen to meet Los Angeles County’s criteria for a CCW license. Los Angeles County has issued 197 licenses to its 10.2 million residents. This works out to about 1 license for every 50,000 residents.
So the issue of gun mods is irrelevant.

So you realistically have no first hand knowledge, and are just running with what others have said, is that about it?

For the record you said no modifications, not the qualified statement that you are now using to back-up the original inaccurate statement. No modifications would mean none, not even sights or grips.

Thanks. I still hate the Glock trigger. With that said, I was really looking forward to carrying a small 1911 type gun for the trigger. The more I thought about it ... the more I thought it would be a loaded gun with one in the chamber, hammer cocked back, safety on. If anything accidentally pushes against the trigger I am 100% counting on the safety to prevent ND/AD ... and the more I thought about it the more I thought there could certainly be some situation where unbeknownst to me the safety was clicked off and I have an alligator in my pocket waiting to kill or wound me or someone else.

Is that a reasonable fear or am I being crazy?

Anyway because of that I think I should go striker fire. Am going back and forth between G26 and P365 (+/- SAS), now leaning toward the Sig.

Oh don't get me wrong - the trigger doesn't matter in terms of my shooting ability. It's like driving a car. Ferrari is getting you to the same place as the Honda. I just really LIKE the crisp feel of the 1911 trigger and don't care for the mushy Glock trigger.

The criterion for LA Sheriff that will trip you up is (and this is close to the quote but probably not exact) "There must be a clear and present and imminent and specific known lethal danger that cannot be addressed by any way other than a CCW."

So basically if your crazy psycho ex husband or a known gangbanger in your neighborhood calls you and says he's getting in his car with a gun to kill you right now ... The LA Sheriff's department says the most appropriate next step is to apply for a CCW.

I'm not joking about the criteria by the way. That is their language.

The appropriate next step is for the police to have recognized someone is getting ready to murder you and have arrested him two weeks ago.

Can't wait to move out of this state.
