You can cure this by going out and buying one. Cheaper than therapy.Comment

As a funny side note it was a great early lesson in seniority. Our agency at that time had a mix of 19’s and 66’s, and unbeknownst to me you could tell how much seniority someone had by if they had a 19 or a 66. When my weapon got issued they only had 66’s so they gave me one (with the requisite 18 rounds for my weapon and two speed loaders). I was walking about feeling like the cock of the walk when a lieutenant stopped me abruptly and asked “why the **** does this guy have a stainless revolver?”
I was confused and scared as he frog marched me back to the equipment and training guy and made him assign his model 19 to me and my 66 to him. It was stressful but that Lt. later became the undersheriff prior to retirement and even though we didn’t have much contact it was always a big icebreaker when we ran into each other as he retold the story to people.Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.Comment

Nice gun! I had a Model 19 that I carried for about 12 years on patrol and as a Detective. I tried many different grips on it and finally settled on a set of Hogue grips that was given to me by one of my trainees.
Unfortunately, I sold it when my wife bought a Beretta 92F for me about the time that the military switched to the Beretta. But fortunately, the Reserve Officer that I sold it to still has it and she has promised me that she is taking good care of it.Comment

K frame is nice to fondle and balances well while dry firing, but when it comes to actual shooting, I prefer the L frame - 686 6 inch.Comment

So when is the OP going to Ceracoat that M19? Replace the NFG OEM springs, rubbers stocks, file down
the stop strap for a aim point, double Magna Port the barrel, and stuff some hotload 1,500fps 158 grain bullets
and go do some practical shooting?

Of all the .357's I own, I shoot my yard sale find 4" 586 the most accurately.
When I first moved here, there were great deals on Smiths (and other guns) everywhere I looked. I think I picked up something like 17 firearms in the first six months.....then I ran out of money and shortly after that it seemed like the really good deals dried up. I still get lucky from time to time, but nice guns at great prices are no where near as plentiful as they used to be. I keep looking though as you just never know what will turn up.Last edited by highpower; 10-04-2019, 7:12 AM.MLC member.

Very very nice. I love the K frame.
Down to a 4" M13 and a 2" M15 now. Foolishly sold off a few others. I'm torn between the N and the K as to which I prefer to shoot, so it's better to have both.
