Don't know if the OP is still interested in SAA info.
This year alone, I got three single actions; a 3rd Gen Colt in .45Colt, a Standard Mfg in .45Colt, and recently a Cimarron Frontier in .357mag. The Cimarron is made by Pietta, and unlike Uberti, they still make the traditional 4-click action system without the transfer bar. So like the Colts and Standard Mfgs, it should be loaded with the old John Wayne method; load one, skip one, load four. It is a very good gun, I got mine from Joe Perkins from Classic Single Action. He is a dealer (and a world class SA gunsmith) and offers a reduced price in his Premium Action work to go along with the Frontier. His website has an opinion page that is very informative about single actions. https://classicsingleaction.com
Short of a Colt or a Standard, his Frontiers are the next best thing, IMO. Excellent SA for under 600 bucks._______________

Just FYI, Called-2-Arms in Modesto has an Uberti Expendable revolver on the shelf as of today. Nice pistol. Was temped to buy it. IIRC it was around 549. B.Comment

I think Uberti make high quality guns. I have one of their Remington 1858 revolvers.
I read somewhere that Uberti made Colts reproduction black powder guns. I had several and the quality was awsome. A friend had their Colt 1873 revolvers and it was very nice.
I never heard of Taylor. I would buy the Uberti.

I ended up buying the short stroke runnin iron from http://www.pioneergunworks.com/pistols2019 (3 lb trigger). My first SAA. Since I am not likely to shoot competition, I probably over did it, but it is a nice pistol and very smooth.
Then, I recently picked up a Uberti Expendables Cattleman. Purchased from sportsmanswarehouse.com and transferred it to a local gun store. Uberti claimed that this version was tuned in-house and it is also very nice and smooth. I have not shot either and probably won't do it anytime soon.Comment

of the 2 italian ones, i prefer the Uberti, I have both and the Uberti just seemed better out of the box, it was a Taylor's Uberti though. The Pietta was a little gritty, had some burrs to remove, both are fine guns.
But, WARNING, DANGER ahead, you will want a real Colt with the prancing pony on the side after shooting those guns. I was able to resist almost 2 years before I bought a real Colt, i was really hoping those clones would take care of the real Colt itch and they should have, can't explain why they didn't they are fine guns, but had to have the real thing eventually.sigpic
