What can you carry all the time and not hurt your body?
Many small CCW pistols fit this metric.

I will never leave it at home or the car as it is comfortable to have all the time.

Single stacks are a little bit thinner so they print a little bit less.

Find something that is reliable and you will, not can, carry every day
Not everybody. During normal daily carry of my G26, I use the stock 10 round magazine per my ccw issuing agency. When out camping, the G19 15 round magazine goes in the 26, not for the extra grip, but for the extra pew-pew.

I like the pinky dangling grip too - and it might seem fussy but I like the G19 mags more than the G17 length magazines in my G26... the fun-sticks are just obscene (now THAT’S extra pew!)

Kahr P45 is single stack it is perfect size for ccw. S&W sd9ve is double stack it is just slightly bigger than the Kahr P45.

I would argue that someone who is 235lb and 6’3” could conceal a full size double stack handgun just as easily as a 170lb 5’10” person could conceal a shield.

Back before “Freedom week” I carried the smallest single stack 9mm that could hold 10 rounds. Now, all bets are off. Mo ammo= Mo Betta!

My full size Springfield XD prints a bit with the grip of my pistol on my hip, but it is not bad. I hope the Springfield XD Subcomoact will be better in this regard. The grip is smaller.

At 6'6", with jimmy-dean-sausage-hands, my most comfortable pistol is my Desert Eagle... it just feels good in my hand. :-)

If you like the bigger pistol, try it out! buy one, see which you like better, and if money is tight, sell the one you don't want. If not, you've got TWO choices now. :-)

I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.

I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.

I am going to keep the Shield and just have more options depending on weather, clothes, and maybe even just the vibe.

They say the reason women like to collect shoes is that they are enduring and will always be there for them. If they gain a few pounds, they may not be able to get into their skinny jeans, but their shoes will still fit.

Similarly, your guns don't give a crap if you've packed on a few pounds. THey will always be there for you. So keep them all!

I wont comment on the shoe stuff but what the heck, wear whatever suits your fancy.

As for the double stack issue...I say again as always, go with what's comfortable in your hands. My three CCWs are a 19, 23 and 30. I love all three of them cause they fit my hands the best for being smaller guns.

Now I am not by all means a Glock fanboy, but as for EDC, these work best for me. I love the double stack 9mm for the G19 and the G30 which has double stack. 45acp and i get a 10+1 outta those and fit great in my hands.

                          Hope that helps...

OP, most of us went through a similar journey when trying to find the optimum carry pistol.

Large guns are generally easier to shoot and harder to conceal comfortably.

Single stack pistols like the Shield or the G43 are much easier to conceal, but can be a challenge for some to shoot comfortably.

Although I have carried double stack compacts like the G26 and G30 here in California, I find the single stacks are much easier to carry and conceal.

With several different pistols on my CCW list, I can carry whatever the weather and the circumstances warrant...

Since you're so easily persuadable, drop that piece of tupperware, and get a 1911. Preferably a custom Wilson Combat model. With ALL the bells & whistles.
