SW 4505 - manual

Picking up a S&W4505. It belonged to a relative, so i know it has been sitting on a shelf closet with no attention for 20 plus years. Even then total round count for its life is under 200.

I assume several springs will need to be replaced. But i also want to know and understand how this weapon functions. So i will probably perform a full tear down and inspect all parts and replace all springs. Does anyone have a manual or know of a video that accurately shows the full disassembly and reassembly procedure for the weapon? I only found field stripping videos so far. I can fully tear down my Sigs and 1911, so im not too intimidated by what it may take. Just dont like going in completely blind.

There is no need for a complete field strip or spring change if it's barely been shot. Disassembly should be close to the 4506 or 5906.

Very nice. Not sure if you know or not but that is a pretty rare gun. Only 1200 were made.

Thanks for the help all. Yes, i was aware of the rarity if the 4505.

Those things have a LOT of springs. Unless there's a problem I would leave 'em be. An exception might be the recoil spring. I usually replace those on a new-to-me pistol.
