I bought a .38 Special SP-101 from my sister a few years ago just because she wanted to sell it. Good lord, it is one of my absolute favorite revolvers to have fun with. I did put a full size Hogue grip on it (I don't like a dangling pinky). It is a first year SP but only had maybe 100 rounds through it and it sat in a drawer.
A great (and accurate) range gun and would be excellent for home defense but too heavy to carry (for me). Instead, I carry a .38 LCR or S&W 442, drops in the pocket with a pocket holster eezee peezee.
