    SD9VE - Damaged slide - Help

Hey Everyone - new to the forum. Been lurking for a few weeks. Need a little help.
Was adjusting new rear sight in my sd9ve - and i believe the tool i was using (see picture) damaged the slide.

Emailed Smith & Wesson - "I am sorry slides are not sold separately."

Any Help or direction would be appreciated.

    Thanks!!

I would contact CS and see if you can ship it back to them. Otherwise, a used slide would be in order, I suppose.

    Maybe it's time for a Glock. . I kid

Sorry, no experience with the SD9VE or S&W customer service.
But I do constantly check EveryGunPart.com for parts.
          For example: https://everygunpart.com/handgun-kit...less-9605.html
          Good luck!

Yeah, but that's for an SW. I'm not sure it will work on an SD.

            This one will though.

            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I'm kind of curious what were you using to adjust the sights? Never mind looked at the second picture. Proper tool for the job is not a sight adjustment tool for a different model gun. It would be similar to using my Sig tool to adjust Beretta sights. It might work, or it might break something.

Just hand tight, the tool has a twist knob on the bottom.

However, the appropriate answer is too tight. Lol

Wow, if that slide can be broken with a sight adjustment tool I would rethink the durability of that gun. I'm not being a jerk, but is it pot metal? OP you must be one strong guy.

i have the same tool for sig. i've done maybe 8 front and rear sights and i haven't cracked one slide. so if you didn't over tight it then you have a weak/defective slide.

Or just maybe using the sight tool for an M&P that may have different dimension's, may not have been the best choice. Not all S&W are the same, same for Sig's. When I got my armorer's kit for P series guns the sight tool did not work with 229 slides.

that is a good question for op. the instruction identifies what models work and not.
