    Glock Ejection

Tried a search but the search function doesn't seam to be working - SO -

Glock 3rd Gen model 23 - approximately 3000+ rounds total.

Apex trigger group w/ about 1000+ rounds.
Spent brass is now hitting me in the head and goes in various directions.
Just changed the extractor out and no difference.
Does anybody have any suggestions? No I won't use it as a boat anchor so Glock Haters please refrain from erroneous advise.

    Thanks is advance.

Duck faster, wear a hard hat?

Sorry couldn't help myself. Never had the problem so I don't have any real advise.

      Try different recoil spring weights?

Were all 3000 rounds the same weight and velocity?

No - factory various and reloads 180 & 165gr. - all eject erratically
using factory weight 17Lbs on a stainless rod & swapped out the spring.

Inspect the ejector. Consider using the OEM RSA for troubleshooting purposes.

Try the gen 4 ejector. But I would research about this first.

Yeah, with aftermarket parts it's difficult to say anything for sure. Aftermarket parts are typically to blame in most cases like this.

I use a 9mm ejector on my G24 and it throws it out at 4:00 (plus I can use a a 17/34 slide Later with no issues)

Again, look at the ejector (not extractor). Make sure it's the latest version for the G23. Available inexpensively on Ebay. I had the same (and other) problems with a G17. Sent it to Glock USA. The ejector was replaced, and now the gun functions correctly.

Glock fanbois know - you must be limpwristing it. Only true men can shoot perfect guns like Glocks.

Seriously, that is common enough to be known as "brass to face" aka BTF.

If you have the 336 ejector, that can be replaced with the newer model. Or, the extractor can be removed and cleaned, or replaced. The MIM extractors are supposed to do it more than the older ones.

I just saw AIM is selling billet extractors, but the come in one color. Pimp gold.

Apex has a machined one, but it is $60 or so.

I recommend a thorough cleaning of the extractor first.

I replaced the 336 ejector on my new 17, and it did help keep the brass away from my head.

Remove the ejector pin, the mainspring, the mainspring housing and the slide. Throw them all in the trash and buy a 1911. Problem solved.

                          Glock 19 also BTF.

                          OP, try the Apex extractor.

                              LOL - I have a 1911 variation - Carried it for 8 years.
A Glock 23 40SW holds 13 Flush and 17 with a 22 mag with extension. I have 24 round mags for my PPC. The 40SW hits out to 200 yards w/ 26" of drop & 355 LBS of energy 165Gr. Oh and it is lighter than a 1911 too. One of the few examples where bigger isn't always better.
