      Dear California,
I love you. I was born and raised in you. You have given me some of the best times of my life. Now with that said, I can not wait to move!

I just picked up an xd45 from fowlers (in orange) today for 569, seemed like a pretty decent price compared to most others. I live in Los angeles and the only other one (xd45, not 40) i could find was in Burbank and they were asking "over 700."

Now just for the 10day wait.

That's where I picked up my XD9 as well.

Prices aren't too bad, I honestly havent seen them lower than that. The XD40 and XD40SC and XD9's were all $539 on Tuesday when I was there. Came to $633 after DROS and tax.

Sales Tax in OC is lower than it is in Los Angeles County too...

One way or another the gun ends up costing $600+ even if you buy it online.
say you can find it for $500 online, you spend 75-100 for the out of state transfer + DROS, not to mention you have to wait a few days for the gun to get here, and then hopefully the gun you bought had CA legal magazines...

You end up paying one way or another... my XD40 Stainless is on backorder at tacticalgunarmory.com (which I paid $510 for), and after it gets DROS'd and all that good stuff is probably going to cost me another $100 in DROS/OutOfState transfer fees...

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
              XD40 4" Stainless, XD40 3" Subcompact, 22lr rifle, 20# side-by-side, AR15... and lots of ammo...

Exactly. Glad you got down to Fowlers and got what you wanted!

Alright, you win! I'm heading out to go camping this weekend and I'll take it with me.

                  ETA:

Shot it this weekend and couldnt be happier with it. As for my accuracy, that could use some work . Anyway, I loved the feel the XD and loved the 40 cal round even more!

The wait is over, went in a few minutes early and they did everything in advance. Handed my XD over right at 17:35 and the transaction was done.

I pick up my XD40 next Sunday. I was on my way home from a remote office today and I stopped at Fowlers and and the guy said they had 3 40s today but sold and they only had a 45 left. Price wasn't bad. However, I stopped at Ammo Bros and theirs were priced at well over 600. However they had good prices on Ammo , I picked some 5.56 (200 for 99). They had some reload .40 @ 39 for 200. Not bad.
