Strongside but cross draw when I'm in a confined environment like driving.

I kind of expected it to be more polarized.. way more overwhelming slant to strong side than I thought it would be..

        Carry options

For most of my handgun carry which is outdoors hunting and the like it's cross-draw. Long barrelled heavy revolvers are a PITA to draw from a strong-side holster. I find cross-draw more comfortable when on horseback, driving, or on a motorcycle or ATV. Cross the border and my mode of carry changes to strong-side (actually appendix) carry. Carry modes can vary with what state I'm in and what their laws are.

Strongside. Easier to defend against a gun grab. No lasering or sweeping anyone. In a confrontation at close quarters a perp can't stall your draw. Among many other things...

With that cross draw has a place when you are in a seated position i.e. a car but a shoulder rig will do the same and is more comfortable in my opinion.

For me strongside or a shoulder rig.

cross draw 'feels" more comfortable as my arm is more stretched out - for lack of a better terminology. but with strong side, when I go to grab my weapon from the holster, it seems my arm is up and cocked at such an angle, pulling up 3-4 more inches to clear the muzzle from the holster is a tad bit more effort and stretch than seems reasonable... this is why I was wondering what others prefer. I could see the benefit of a strong side tactical holster to correct that 'feeling' as it rides lower.

I just got a new Blackhawk Serpa CQC for my Glock 23 - awesome holster I must say - so was playing with the new setup and adjustments and I just got to wondering.. as it just 'feels' better to cross draw.. but I see downsides people mention

Strongside, unless you do a lot of sitting in a car.
