    You never know

So I went to the range on Friday to burn a couple of hundred rounds and in the lane next to me was an older woman, who probably weighed about 90 pounds, and I noticed she was putting round after round in a single ragged hole. I peeked over and saw she was shooting a Ruger .22 target pistol. Then she shifted to a big bore, 9mm or .45, and was doing the exactly the same thing, round after round, even at well over 10 yards. It was the best shooting I had ever seen. I mentioned it to the range officer and he told me that when she took up shooting, she would come to the range every day it was open and shoot 700 rounds each time - for months. She doesn't come as often now, he said, but she still is deadly shot, proving that you can't tell who is a true pistolero from outward appearances.

        Nice to hear.

Roughly how old would you say is "old"?

        BUT:

I said "older," not "old." She was at least in her 60s, I'd say. I would have photographed her shooting but pics are banned in my range.

            Awesome. Good on her.

Did you see of she's a member of CALGUNS?

Depends on how many days and whether she bought over priced range ammo. Maybe she shot like that for 3 months and it only cost her $10k in ammo. Maybe its just a range story.

                      50 years ago, a 50-round box of 22s cost about 25 to 30 cents.

She still spent a few dollars a day on ammunition, $5 was a lot back then. You could get a new S&W revolver for about $100.

Those were the good old days. I learned to shoot when it was cheap.
