Small crack in magazine

I purchased a .45 over in the Marketplace and I noticed a small crack in one of the magazines that came with it.

It is a Nighthawk ACT-MAG made in Italy. See the attached photos. The crack is by the "W". It is at the spot that is stressed when the magazine is loaded.

Is this magazine a goner? OK to just use at the range? Or not a problem?

Is there any warranty from Nighthawk on something like this?

Agree, toss it and buy a couple Wilson Combat mags. They are well made, dependable and rebuildable when needed. I have had some as long as 15 years and have rebuilt them once.

Why screw with it...get good mags. As others have said...Wilson mags are good and easy to load...

AFTER you break them in, lol. Let them sit fully loaded for 3-4 days before using them at the range.

Which unfortunately says

All OEM magazines warranty have to be directly solved with firearm manufacturer and ACT-MAG will work with firearm manufacturer.

I would toss that one or see if Nighthawk will swap it out, and also grab some Wilson 47D or Wilson ETM.

I like the 500CHD for carry in my Nighthawk. Pricey though, but worth it.

Best case scenario would be range use only; otherwise, toss it. You can get Wilson mags as mentioned above or Tripp

Beautiful handgun, congrats! As others have already stated, magazines are absolutely consumable items. I have no problems throwing them away. Rare, no longer produced magazines excluded. Pitch it and buy some new high quality ones and carry one. [emoji106]

Definitely follow up on the warranty! While magazines are indeed consumables, this gun is a cut way above any average .45 out there. Having OEM magazine(s) will always enhance the overall value of a gun should you someday decide to sell it.

I have a Springfield longslide that is very similar to yours. I really like the added length and the extra weight that soaks up a lot of the recoil.

Anyways, that a real beauty you have there and I'm betting it shoots as nice as it looks.
