    P2000 Aftermarket

Looking at purchasing my first handgun and basically set on a P2000 for HD. Was just wondering if there was a large/any aftermarket for it.

Not much. You have a couple options for sights, and you can source various springs for trigger upgrades/ variants.

If you are looking for Glock like aftermarket you will be dissatisfied. If you want a good gun out of the box with some tinkering options you will like it.
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

I think P2000 is a great choice. I've never shot one but I do own 2 HKUSP9c's that I really love.

I've never felt the need for a trigger job on them but never tried other HK triggers. Assume it's decent.

There isn’t much it needs. Extended mag release, new sights, maybe springs? They’re nice firearms and fit the bill well. My P2K LEM is my daily carry

I think it's great out of the box. Good choice.

With HK they really are ready to go. Choose aftermarket sights of your choice and toss on a light and you got a nice range/ HD pistol that is going to run for tens of thousands of rounds without issue. I feel like I had to drop 3 or 400 dollars in upgrades to my glock 30 just to get it to shoot and point well for me. My p30 I've never done anything to it.

Sometimes you can't add on to perfection. consider the high cost, shouldn't have to.
My recent purchased P2000sk is perfect, even came with two mags.

The aftermarket for this pistol is not great, but what changes are you planning on making?

                    HK45c mag release?

As mentioned, the extended mag release is a common upgrade for the P2000. It's cheap and easy to do. With the extended mag release you can use your trigger finger to drop the mag. I recently got a P2000 with the LEM trigger myself. I'm still trying to get used to it. The ergonomics of the gun are great especially for a lefty but the LEM trigger is very different from other triggers. Not necessarily in a bad way, but it may take some adjustment. I haven't tried the DA/SA model.

I had a P2000 LEM that our Department armorer changed the springs in the trigger mechanism. It made the trigger so light I was afraid of a ND, so I had him put the stock springs back it. The LEM variant trigger is fine right out of the box in my opinion. I never saw a need to change the mag release. I just trained with it and it was fine. Mine had the factory night sights on it, so I didn’t see any reason to change them. It was my primary duty gun the last two years of my career, as well as my off duty carry gun. A little big for concealed carry, but now there are a lot more options in the sub compact category.

                            P2000 with extended mag

ATF Form 4473: If a frame or receiver can only be made into a long gun (rifle or shotgun), it is still a frame or receiver, not a handgun or long gun.

A low-profile slide release can be helpful, if you find yourself riding the release with your thumb. I'd recommend shooting it first a lot. If you find the slide not locking open on the last shot, chances are your thumb is riding the release and a low-pro release will help fix that problem. If you aren't having this issue, then the new part really isn't needed.
