While I will still buy it, I'm not as hot and heavy as I was this time yesterday.,..

And the G36 is 6+1 .45 ACP. (so you don't need all those extra rounds)

Now if we could get a S&W version of this on the shield... that would be sweet.

+1 thats what I did with my 42, and 43...

The strike industries grip extensions are nice too. Matches the frame and grip texture perfect and are cheap. I have a couple mags with those as well.

I really want the G48 but just a little wider. You could easily increase the mag capacity by 50% with just a small increase in width. That would be the ulitmate. Think they'll make one like that?

I actually think this is the market play that Glock is making. With more and more states going to 10 round limits, designing a Glock from the ground up with a 10 round mag makes sense. The 43X/48 is way too big to be a size competitor to the Sig P365 (which is insanely small and if it didn't have reliability issues would be THE 10 round CCW) and is close enough to the G19 that I don't think the substantial loss of capacity is offset by the minor reduction in slimming down by 1-2mm.

However, if you are limited to 10 rounds and aren't sitting on a pile of standard Glock mags, the 43X/48 might be the perfect handgun. I'm an admitted Glock admirer because they are so simple and reliable and I'll probably be watching the classifieds to pick one up to try.

That G48 is VERY interesting. I need to move to a free state soon.

Looking at the pictures, it looks like these are just a 43 slide with a grip frame blown out to accept the new 10 round 43x/48 magainze. If that is the case, you should be able to get a 48 and put a 43 slide on it if you already own a 43.

A G43 with “+whatever” extensions, mag guts, etc... etc... all that defeats the purpose of a light weight compact gun. I laugh that people buy a small gun and then pimp it up full of extra weight and size. ...because it’s just “never enough.”

Honestly, Sig changed the game with their 365 and they had a smart way to go about it (designing around the magazine). As evidenced by this and the whole .380 before 9mm single stack, Glock is really lagging behind on the innovation side and often years behind in responding to the market. I bet SHOT2020 will have a 17X with a long slide and a compact frame
Yea, but Glock isn't in it to be innovative. They're in it to make money. The 380 before 9mm thing was a perfect example of that, as I bet the VAST majority of folks who bought a G42 then bought a G43 half a year or a year later.

I know I did. And my Battlefield Green G43s are rad, but I still carry the P365 every day.

                                Why wouldn't I want that?

                                Longer sight radius

Isn't it easier to conceal a short frame/ long slide as opposed to a short slide/long frame?
