    OOPS!

Reassembling this G19, the rear of the slide went on top of the rear rails.
Never had this happen before. How can I fix it????

    Nevermind. Fixed it. Whew!

I’ll PM you my FFL’s address. I’ll pay for shipping. Gun is broken.

I misaligned the slide on my Glock 17 when I assembled after cleaning. Now it's stuck and won't move forward past position in photo. Anyone know how to fix? Thanks!

Not sure if link will help.

OK fixed it. Thank you for that link it's the one I was looking for. Won't do that again. Never happened with either my 17 or 26.

That assembly error can't happen with a 1911.

Oh, look at that! Only 4 replies in...

That's right. A 1911 will assemble perfectly every time and appear gtg. You won't know until you need it whether it will fail to extract, fail to feed, fail to fire, stove pipe or hammer follow to half-cock. That's when you reach for your backup Glock.

I don’t know why people insist on taking a Glock apart, they are perfection and cleaning them isn’t necessary.

Similar scenarios happen with any gun. You can wedge parts together at a slightly wrong angle with lots of machines. Typically it would be a new user or someone who is being overly cautious that gets worried and timid about yanking it apart - not at all a bad thing. But with a Glock it is pretty hard to EFF something permanently. Common sense will always prevail after you get a feel for how tough a Glock is. They are simple and easy, insanely popular for a reason, copied by everyone for a reason. Drink the Kool Aid.

One man's perfection is another man's opportunity to install a factory Glock extended slide stop lever.

Just sell it. After all it has a custom slide, add a stippling job and it should be worth at least twice what you paid for it.

judging by the small gouge in the slide cover plate, it looks like you tried to rack the slide on too quickly and over rode the rear rails, all it takes is not holding the slide down a couple millimeters too high to miss the rails

slow down next time when reassembling your pistol
