SA-XD .45 for $479.98 with the Gear UpI am searching for a reliable easy to use in an indoor outdoor protecton quick reaction. I prefer a 5 in barrel semi auto. Living in caifornia I have certain limitations to what I can and cant have on a firearm ie size magazing wih no more than 10 bulles. with limited budget going back and forth with xdm 45 and glock 21sf. I want to keep the price under $600. If not the two mentioned above please give your feedback. thank you so muchComment

Another +1 on the XD series.
The XD Tactical is the 5" slide (9/40/45). The Service model is the 4" (9/40/45). You have the Compact (45 ACP only) which is the 4" slide, but a smaller grip, making concealment easier. After that, you've got sub-compact 9 and 40's in a 3.3" version.
We LOVE the XD series and for some odd reason, it doesn't get a whole lot of love around here. Great trigger, very reliable, sturdy and a solidly built gun. And, they're very accurate to boot. The 1911 style grip angle make it point naturally towards the target-a boon if you have to 'point and shoot'.
Plus, the warranty/customer service and support are fantastic!
You won't be disappointed.
But, to echo what another poster above said, get to a range and rent a few. Take notes and come back here with any questions.
Happy shooting and be safe.Les Baer 1911: Premier II w/1.5" Guarantee, Blued, No FCS, Combat Rear, F/O Front, Checkered MSH & SA Professional Double Diamond Grips
