Looks good, but no swap of mim parts, didn’t replace the subpar grip safety and blend? The safety contour looks eh... I bet there is absolutely no barrel fit on the gun. Those would have been musts for me...

Honestly that grip safety and the fit/blendin of it sticks out to be, looks really out of place imo.

Anyway, as long as you like it is all that matters!

        Cheers

Other than that! Looks nice man.

I was under the impression you were the customer! Anyways, looks fine man.. esp if the customer just wanted to give it a better overall look.

Reliability though... got to lose those mim parts. Have see far to many snap and break.

Cheers brother! Keep up the good work!

I think it looks great. My question is how can someone tell what's mim or not and at what time do they break. I have a SA black stainless that is over 10 years old and has 7-8k through it and the only thing I've replaced are springs and added a MSH with magwell.

You took a perfectly good shooter...and made it better!

                    Nice work...

                      Yes,

                      Seems pointless.

I doubt there's any stock gun out of the factory without MIM parts and can't be factory customized with non MIM since non MIM replacements aren't manufactured.

                      Beautiful result..

MIM parts usually have some kind of mold line or mark on them.

This is my gun and it was built the way I wanted it built…to be a shooter. If I wanted a BBQ gun, that had perfect lines and all the treatments, I would have sent a Series 70 Colt and told Brett sky’s the limit. That’s not what we have here.

With this gun, it was bought at a bargain price and had the features I wanted added for its intended purpose. To shoot, train, and shoot more.

The car analogy gets brought up on this board often, so I’ll say this – I told Brett I wanted a diesel work truck, not a race car. Something that can get pushed hard, take abuse and keep going for the long haul. Essentially, a work horse.

Point is, this gun will get shot…a lot. This gun will get holstered a lot. This gun will get used a lot.

Form follows function and that’s what I had done. Trigger, sights, checkering and mag well. Ball cuts were a last minute touch of flair. As others have mentioned, there is way too much boo-hoo made about MIM parts. If a MIM part breaks, I know a guy!

She may not be your prom queen but she’s my Farmers Only piece.

Big thanks to Brett. For you guys on the fence about sending a 1911 off to him, Brett is a class act guy. He’s a wealth of information, responsive, and straight up. Oh and he puts out a damn good product. I’m happy client and a soon-to-be returning customer.
