    Should I sell a Glock 17 rtf2 or a mint Gen Two G17?

I decided to sell off one of my Glock 17s to make some space in the safe and pay off a few bills.

One is a mint generation 2 in the Tupperware with less than 300 rounds fired through it. All paperwork is with it. The other one is a rtf2 in mint condition with under 400 rounds fired through it. There's no box with that one.

Which one do you think I should sell?

I liked the RTF 2 so much I bought a second. I would dump the gen 2.

If you want to thin the herd I would let the Gen 2 go unless you are a Glock collector.

I’m not a “collector” but I assume you can get significantly more money by selling the gen 2. But I would guess it will also be worth significantly more in the future.

I would sell the gun I play with less often. One gun evokes more emotion: keep it.

I'd probably keep the gen2 unless I could get twice as much for it. I love RTF2's but they would be a lot easier to replace. Since it is about money, the gen2 might be an easier sell to get some cash.

No, NEVER sell a gun to pay bills. You will want both guns back and they are difficult to get and will cost more. I have owned eight SIG P220 pistols and lost three Browning Hi Powers because of this.

A better solution is to arrange a payment schedule for those bills considering that the value of the guns is low. This will allow you to keep the guns and pay the bills off more easily. Right now you are staring at the bill and are missing the larger picture. In my case, selling the guns only resulted in a 30 day reprieve. I was back to the same situation and out some guns.

I say RTF2. Nothing special about it to me at least. Gen2 is harder to come by in a pristine condition.

Used Glocks are worth $400-$450 but since yours is special, it might fetch $500-$600. That isn't a lot of money these days so you should just sell both since your safe needs space for your future Nighthawk 1911.

I sold all my Gen 2 Glocks when I noticed the newer versions had an extra reinforcement pin.

If you feel you must sell one, sell the gen 2...unless you collect. Then, sell the rtf2. Personally, I wouldn’t sell either one. But since you’re not a collector, go with the Gen2. You’ll get good money for it...especially in as good a condition as yours is in.

The rtf2 also has fish gill serrations if that makes a difference
