Stoner CNC very custom 1911 grips.

I have a full custom build being done by Nighthawk and I want to get an appropriate set of stocks for it. I got a set of very nice grip medallions from Nighthawk Custom and this is where the ride gets bumpy.

No matter where I look, one of the desired features isn't possible by the companies I have contacted. Especially medallion installation. Half the companies don't realize bobtail isn't the same as round mainspring. This is the laundry list.

    *Full size frame
    *Bobtail mainspring housing
    *Slim profile
    *Starburst pattern
    *Grip medallions installed

I found one company who has an owner that truly knows and loves 1911's.

Matthew Stoner, owner of Stoner CNC. He doesn't just do gun grips. His specialty is in G10 CNC'd products but his grips are very nicely done.

He emailed me back and said he can do all of the options I wanted. I didn't like the colors offered and sent him a message asking if there was any other colors. I got an email back with pics and chose my color. He has a rediculous selection for knife makers.

Check out his site. He does other guns as well.

I'll download pics when I get them.

Yeah, but this is CalGuns. They must be junk because they don't cost $150.

But on a serious not. I ran into a guy that had a set of his grips at the range. Really nice grips and he doesn't over price them though he can if he wanted to. I had contacted him asking about panels for my Sig P290. He said that that he didn't make them but he might because he had a fair amount of people asking for them. Just checked his site and he's still not making any.

I'm sure you'll be happy with your new grips.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Price seems very reasonable.....the price of a lot of G10 stuff is just stupid. The raw material just isn't that expensive.

Try and operate a business (and make a living) at making and selling G10 grips. Then, come back and tell us why the grips you make shouldn't cost much more than the raw materials. Is your time worth next to nothing? Are your tools used to make said grips free? Do you not have living expenses? Don't need to eat? Have no one to support? Own multiple guns costing over $600 and a pair of G10 grips is too much?

        LMAO.

Bought several from stoner when he started off small scale on Ebay. Got the starburst for my Valor and after some light sanding near the thumb is so comfortable and grippy with sweaty hands.

You think stoner has inflated prices try $100 for VZ grips touting “finest quality micarta”... according to who?

Doing a full production of micarta grips calls for a shop that has a vacuum, air filtration system. Not to mention the bandsaws, belt sanders, surface grinder and CNC mill. $50 for a set is very reasonable.

                  Stoner has the best prices around. He also is attainable which is nearly impossible for most coumpanies. He has more options than others too. There is a coupon code for $5. off;

Having spent $450 on 1911 grips, $150 sounds cheap!

I like the Mil Tac G10 grips on my 1911-pattern pistolas.

I originally wanted a set of iron wood grips. They usually start around $200. It was like pulling teeth to get one to put medallions in a set. I even looked into iron wood scales to see the material cost. It isn't much different than other wood cost wise but difficult to work with. $50 is cheap. $100 is cheap for wood...

They're pretty nice. They look similar to VZ grips.

I'm happy with the way these grips turned out. I'll be getting more from them if needed.
