    So, Les Baer?

I am intrigued by these pistols. However, there seems to be multiple models though all CA roster ones are basically 5" .45s.

What is the difference between various models and assuming one was in the market which would be recommended?

The Custom Carry is the base model on which the rest are built upon. Differences include sights (Premier 2 is a Custom Carry with adjustable sights) etc.

edit: Here's a link that explains a bunch. Sorry it's from another site: https://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=275107

Thanks, that helps a lot. Called them up and they say 3 to 6 months for delivery. I just need to find an FFL to place the order I guess.

Give Crazy John a call, he usually has many in stock. I have used him a couple of times.

I ordered Ultimate Master Combat here, on the way... about 3 weeks more...
just added fiber optic sight and G10 Recon grips.

Or ask here for CA compliant inventory / CA compliant customized order.

Yes, give Crazy John a call at 1911Heaven. Great pricing and he always has an inventory in stock, getting a P-II should not be a problem. Plus he is a cool dude to talk to.

Definitely don't need to wait 6 months for one of the common Baers. Call John

Or look at the local shops or private sales.. Baer's "on roster" 1911s are not scarce or in short supply. Good guns that come in a card board box like when you buy generic Brake Pads for your pick up truck.

They sure are great guns. Keep them well lubed, and it will run for a long time. I once didn't clean it for over 5 years (2011 to 2016) with regular range trips and it kept running without reliability issues. Only until carbon buildup in the extractor channel cause it to lose some tension did I finally clean it. Still ran until that point.

Call Crazy John at 1911 Heaven...oh never mind.

Honestly, CJ should have his own forum here.

Don't buy it new. There are lots of pre-owned ones around. Here is one that I picked up. Premier II with 1.5 guarantee. Custom blended magwell and hard chromed finish.

Thanks for the lead. Yes, he is an interesting guy to talk to.

Ordered the Ultimate Master as I wanted adjustable sights, front serrations and ambi safety. He will ship it tomorrow. I will DROS it November 13th and pick it up December 10th.

Congratz!!! You will LOVE your Baer. Get cozy with 500 of your mostest favoritest 45 ACP rounds and start slinging some lead!!! Bring your favorite oil or Breakfree CLP and periodically oil up the barrel hood, muzzle and rails. Bring gloves too cuz your hands will be oily and gross. The more CLP you put, the better.

Remember, pics or it didn't happen. And, DIRTY pics too!
