+1.
When you have your mind set up on a specific gun, go for it. No need to "look for alternatives." When you get the alternative, you'll still want the one you originally wanted. So, get a BHP.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

If you want a Browning Hi Power, then only look for a BHP until you find one but if you want some great SAO 9mm, then get a Sig P210A, CZ Tactical Sport, Sig X5/X6, Tanfoglio Witness Elite Match, Tanfoglio Limited, CGW CZ SP-01 with SAO conversion.Comment

No, but I did find recently that Kimber has a 4" .38 Super on the roster. I believe it's the only 4" 1911 on the roster that is chambered in a centerfire cartridge other than 45 ACP.
Obviously it's a far cry from 9x19mm and it's going to be a bit more expensive to shoot, but it gives you that extra round of capacity while pushing at least 100fps more velocity than the 9x19mm. That gun is on my "some day, if I'm still stuck in CA and have money to burn" list.Comment

I had a BHP and sold it. No alternative will satisfy the itch. After you buy an alternative, you'll always wonder about the BHP.Comment

My first 9mm pistol was a BHP and I still have it after 36 years. I had various 9mm pistols and they have all came and gone. Currently the other 9mm is a Glock.
My range outing last Friday included the BHP and later a bacon, lettuce & tomato sandwich.
