    CZ TS Vs SP-01

OK CZ Guru's, I want to add one to the herd. The TS feels a little large in the grip, especially when compared to the SP-01, which feels perfect. The TS is effectively double the price. Better to buy the SP-01 and send it off for a nice SA trigger or just get the TS and install a metal flat trigger? I'm guessing the total cost would be darn close in the end. Anyone that has both would be very informative to me.

Why do you "need" a SA trigger? The DA/SA trigger can be made very very nice. My SA trigger on my SP-01s are around 1.5 lbs with a good reset and a crisp break. The DA is always nice to have..
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

It all depends what you are trying to do. For the most part, the TS will always have the better trigger and right out of the box. The metal trigger reduces flex but I honestly did not notice too much of a difference.

The SP01 will have the better ergos for small/medium hands IMHO.

I agree with this. The feel/fit will be more important than the minor differences in the trigger once you get either worked over (although TS doesn't really need much).

I just picked up my second TS in a trade and will probably leave it stock for a while. My other one is the most easy shooting/accurate gun I own

That being said, I sent a SP-01 frame in to have a shadow package added and CZ Custom made this one pretty damn close to the feel of a TS (although total cost was a bit more than a TS but you can sell the SP-01 slide to recoup some of your expenditure if you want)

For a range toy, TS. Below is the comparison:

Internal OEM trigger system is better than modified trigger system in the subject of reliability. Well may be not but it always gives me the comfort.

A 1.5 - 2 lb trigger weight is better than a 2 - 3 lb trigger weight for range toy.

You can take the TS to the range after you take it out of jail for immediate satisfaction. You have to send the SP-01 out for modification and wait for it to come back before you can enjoy shooting it. The wait will stress you out man

But if the purpose is for HD, SP-01 without a doubt.

I have both a TS & a CGW SP-01 SAO. Yes, the total cost is pretty much the same, but a converted SP-01 SAO would be a tad cheaper than the TS...not much. The TS grip is bulky for small hands, so I bought LOK thin grips which helped a lot, but still feels blocky. The comfort of the TS with thin grips still isn't as good as the SP-01. However I do want to mention, for safety reasons, that the TS has factory 2# trigger out-of-box where my CGW SP-01 SAO is at 3.2# (varies) and would say a 2# trigger isn't for most folks and must be EXTRA careful in the hands of folks not used to super light triggers. I would say go with SP-01 & send it out to convert to SAO, mainly because of the comfort. It will take time, but it's well worth it.

For range use, I would go with the TS. It'll be GTG out of the box.

But, if you really like to tinker . . . you can save a bunch of $ by getting the SP-01 and doing the trigger work yourself.
