I got a 9mm and it's one of my favorite, best shooters! How can you go wrong with any CZ!Mortal as I am, I know that I am born for a day. But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the earth.

I have a few of the different CZ models. You can't go wrong with any of them. Very accurate right from the box and comfortable in the hands. You may hear a few talk about a gritty trigger but mine all smoothed out after about two hundred rounds. Get 'em while you can.sigpicComment

CZs are fantastic guns.
They produce/sell more 9mm models than any other, I think the 40 S&W is really for the American (competition) market and little else. Even though you find 40 S&W ammo for sale it's always more expensive than 9mm - think about the real cost of ammo if you're just looking for a plinking gun. The CZ bread & butter (globally speaking here) is in their 9mm lineup.
The 97B .45 model receives mixed reviews, it's really one of (the only?) 45 they make. I've shot the 97B and had no problems personally, but others report strange things like the loaded chamber indicator popping off and other problems -- it's really the oddball of CZ's lineup, I'd rather just get a 1911 45 instead (the 97B is big & heavy). I've even run into people at shops talking about having to send their 97B back for repairs.
The interesting thing about that is not a lot of folks buy a 75B in 40 S&W, so you can usually find one at a shop that's a bit cheaper -- it's been sitting on the shelf and the dealer just wants to move it, get it gone. I know of two shops that did that and I was almost swayed to the dark side of 40 shooting because it was a CZ I didn't own.

My CZ SP-01 Tactical has been reliable from day 1. It will feed any kind of ammo without a hiccup, either factory or my reloads. It's easily more accurate than I am. When new, the trigger was heavy and gritty but smoothed out nicely over 300 rounds or so. I've since replaced the recoil spring and main spring with lighter ones (14#-recoil and 15# main). Still 100% reliable with a nice feel. Ergonomically, the factory grips fit my hand like a glove. No fumbling to find the right hold. Just pick it up and it's ready to go.
I'm impressed enough that my next purchase will be a CZ 75B SA in .40.Comment
