Difference between Glock 17 vs Glock 34

Thinking of getting a Glock and it came down between G17 vs G34. Mostly will be used for action shooting.

    TIA

same lower frame, longer slide and sight radius on the G34. Slide stop lever is different on the G34 (extended). trigger has a minus connector on it for a lighter pull. adjustable (junk) rear sight on the G34. I have 2 G35s for IDPA. I reload and I like the ability to download a 40cal. Heavier bullet, takes steel down easier. 40 cal punches paper better and easier to see your hits.

The differences from OEM configuration are the G34 has

        - extra length at the upper
        - extended slide stop
        - minus connector

Not to throw a kink in your decision, but I prefer the 19. Primarily because The grip fits my hand better.

the G34 is like the "Tactical model" with longer sight radius , the ported slide gives it a very unique look , plus the front end is rounded off

the G17 is more of the standard police / military sidearm / service pistol

As others have said. Get the 34, no question a better choice for intended use.

A G35 is in .40 and a conversion barrel could allow .357 SIG or 9mm

Unless you plan to run an optic, get the 34, it also comes with a lighter trigger pull from the factory.

My favorite range gun is a 34 with a red dot. I do not understand the optic comment. Works well for me.

                          Get the G17
You'll practice and play more with the far lower cost of readily available ammo

The G34 and the G17 are both 9mm

Action shooting? 34 is the answer. It will take you where ever you want to go.
