If the gun seems a bit much after a long session, you may want to go with a pair of Pachmeyers.

You will grip the gun better and recoil will be a cakewalk.

    p.s. im a little jealous.
That is one of the great Ruger riddles... My GP100 came with really good factory rubber grips. I noticed the .44 Redhawk had skinny wood grips that would be no fun at all under recoil.

Ask and receive. I went to the local outdoor range today. Weather was overcast with scattered drizzle. I was shooting cheapo factory 210 grain specials. I shoot single and double stage and recoil was virtually nonexistent. It's far more accurate than I am. I was mostly in the black but I couldn't quite figure out a comfortable grip as I alternated between triangle and weaver stance. I mostly (read exclusively) shoot 1911s and I favor triangle. Nevertheless, the verdict is in. It was a great buy.

No. I don't think so. I can't afford to buy at the same pace as many around here so I tend to be picky with my purchases.

      I'm sorry?

What's wrong with fondling it over a glass of Cabernet? Now a Chardonnay I get. But Cabernet should be a nice meaty wine.

I never said what you think I said. Keyword is "only".

Cabernet is good, Cabernet and range time (though not together) is awesome.

That's all well and good but I don't drink. Leaves more time for the range.
