My first wheelgun. Chambered in .44 mag. Serial number look-up shows it was manufactured between 95-96. This thing must have been someone's safe queen because there is hardly any sign of use. Taking it to the range tomorrow.

Congratulations! I have a Ruger Security-Six in .357 that came with the same style grips.
If the gun seems a bit much after a long session, you may want to go with a pair of Pachmeyers.
You will grip the gun better and recoil will be a cakewalk.

I have one just like it and love it. Two things get the Pachmeyer grips as suggested and pick up some Remington green box 44 mag it throws a nice flame and is nice and loud.Comment

I think RedHawks are great. Yours is the first blued model I have seen. One great feature is the front sight and rear blade can be swapped out. Ruger used to offer a bead front sight and a V rear sight that is great for long range shooting.Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. If you reload you could make some 44 spl wad cutters to make really nice big round holes in a paper target. Not a bad way to figure out the trigger and sights either.Comment
