Anything Wilson is pretty decent. I also vote for you to buy a regular one and send to Wilson for the full treatment.

I'm not a Beretta guy, but I'd sure like to try one out to see how well I use one.

Always the best solution! Seriously man, why get one when you can get two?

There is very little on the factory Wilson gun that they couldn't do for you on a Beretta you send them. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is the rounded trigger guard on the Wilson model. I believe that actually comes done from the Beretta factory but I may be wrong on this. I personally don't care for this detail anyway. So pick your favorite flavor of on roster Beretta 92 to start with and send it in to them. You'll get all the yummy Wilsony goodness without having to pay an off roster price.

And yes, what Wilson does is worth it in my opinion. My first choice would be to have Ernest Langdon do the work. But I don't think he's working on Berettas anymore (you might check though). If not Ernest, then Wilson. Ernest was the advisor on the Wilson gun btw.

One is none and two is one right?

I won't be paying an off roster premium. I'll buy direct from Wilson at their listed price.

I am not a huge fan of the 92 by any means but I bought one directly from them (they offer an LE discount as well) and it's one of the nicest guns I have shot, incredibly smooth, and the softest recoiling 9mm I own by far. I don't have anything negative to say about it.

Mine has some blems, WC offered to refinish it for free but I passed on it.

I say go for it! I'm not roster exempt so I sent my Beretta 92FS Compact Type M to Wilson Combat and had them do the following: action tune, short reach trigger, mag guide, front sight drilled for fiber optic, battlesight rear sight, fluted guide rod, Elite II hammer, shorten and reverse crown barrel and replace all springs.

THE ACTION TUNE ALONE IS WORTH IT. I had them install a 14# hammer spring; the DA is now at about 8.5 lbs and SA is just under 3 lbs. DA is buttery smooth with no grit and SA is nice and crisp. No light primer strikes with a variety of factory ammo. A much improved gun, no doubt.

I was so impressed with the work they did on my gun that I just sent them my full size 92FS. Gonna have them do the same work as above plus the following: G conversion (should have had this done on my Compact ), round trigger guard, hand checker front and back straps, contour magazine well, Wilson trigger bar, ultra thin grips and Armor-Tuff finish. They quoted me 8-10 weeks, I can't wait!

Or just get the Langdon M9 from Beretta for $800. It has some parts but I doubt it will be as sweet as the work from his own hands. But dang that thing sounds awesome!

My issue with the langdon is no rail. I like the wilson combat 92 because I can put an x300 on it.
