    G19 Mags...again.

For some reason I am having major difficulty modifying these to take the 9mm6 followers these days.

I've had great success performing this mod in the past. Never had any problems. I recently purchased a new G19 so I got some new mags as well. I have destroyed 3 mags trying to fit the 9mm6 followers.

When sanding the mag body there is such a small window of tolerance. Not enough, not enough, not enough--TOO MUCH! The followers are sitting very high now. I cycled them and they work, but I dunno...

As much as I don't like the difficulty in servicing them, I guess it's time to buy some Jestice blocked mags.

    Guess I am just venting.

    JB Weld to the rescue...?

Modify the Follower instead of the Mag Body...?

Yeah probably try follower mod next time. Much less expensive if I blow it.

Not gen 5. Do gen 5 mags work in gen 3 pistols?

Yes, the Gen5 mags are compatible with Gen 3 and Gen 4 Glocks, etc

Most of my mags don't seem to push the slide stop up enough on last round fired which has been annoying.

Because of this thread I ordered a gen 5 to see how it does.

Is it known that the Gen 5s function properly?

I bought some. They have the same crappy 2183 followers as Gen 3 mags (only difference is they are orange). At an initial glance it looks like the changes Glock made aren't going to fix the function issue.

I was hoping to get to the range today, but that's not going to happen and I may not be able to test them for a while.

I am in the same boat. Gen. 3 gun and 2183-2 followers. I tested the G19 mags in a G26 with 147g. HST rounds and loaded just one round. Result: rounds nose dive and jam. Same round in a G26 using G26 mags, one round only, feeds fine. I ordered some G19 Gen. 5 mags 2 days ago thinking they would solve the issue. And, just to be complete in this report, since some will say,"why only round?"
(Because a mag should function with just round). The same 2183-2 mags, when fully loaded failed about 5 times after a few rounds.

My magpul mags have been flawless for a bunch of rounds...

                          Yeah I'd try Magpul mags.

                            Where are you located?

I have twelve 2183-2 magazines and they all work perfectly on my two Glock 19 pistols.

Thanks for the kind offer. I am in SoCal. My mags do say 2183-2. In my earlier post, I did not notice the -2.
