I'd go G30 vs G36 based on > amount of rounds on board.
Carrying pistols with common manual of arms plays a + roll when circumstances go teets up and the guns come out. Nothing differs but the size. Sights whether OEM or AM should be the same too IMO.

During the last year of SSE 1.0 I bought both a Gen 4 G29 and a G30. I did not know which I would like and figure I could sell one if I ended up not liking it.

I shot both did not notice a difference between them. The G29 became my woods gun when I ventured into grizzly country. I liked that when in free America I could use the G20 mag and have 15 rounds. With the G30 and using G21 mags, I had 13 rounds. It made no sense to keep both guns. I just did not want to deal with another caliber. I already had guns in 9 mm and .380.

I still need to put it up for sale when I have the time.

If you want a gun for camping and defense against bears as well as 2 legged predators, you may want to consider the G29. You can go mild to wild on the loads and can even shoot .40 without a barrel swap.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

I vote for Glock 36 (later made aka V2) (V1 where trash)without Rail or Rail. Glock 36 no Rail was Discontinued in 2014 Glock 36 with Rail isn’t on roster. DOJ rejected it n Glock sent out a memo to dealers. Now if you can get away with getting Glock 36 Rail without your ffl knowing or remember it. It’s on you. Just remember G36 is about the same size of the G19/23. If you want 45 power but 19 size. Glock 38 is your gun.

Finding the GAP ammo is always a challenge but if you reload, it's a very easy round to reload for. Buy a couple of boxes of Speer Gold Dot or Federal HST GAP ammo for carry and you are done.

The Glock GAP guns are great, smooth shooters. And it was this guy's favorite Glock (G37).

+1 this recommendation. I had a G37 in .45 GAP and enjoyed it heartily. A Glock 38 should suit OP just fine because it has an identical footprint to the G19 but with a heavier slide. IIRC, .45 GAP is loaded to the same pressure as .45 ACP +P.
