If you're happy with the Glock you have why not keep the same platform and go with the Glock 36?

        Off roster choices via PPT:
        Springfield XD-s 45
        S&W Shield 45

Both would be great for CCW and are striker fired.

Springfield Armory XD-45 4" Service Model
Springfield Armory XD9 4" Service Model (wifes).

The Glock 30 is he same frame as a 26 right? I sort of wanted a little bigger like a Glock 19 size where I could get a full handgrip.

Not quite. The Glock 30 is almost as large as a Glock 19.

This. Purchase extended mags for greater capacity as needed. Buffalo Bore or Underwood for hiking/camping and any good SD round for self defense.

G30 or g30sf with 10mm barrel swap. Because .45 is great but 10mm is awesome.

I think the G30 is a perfect CCW gun (although I have never been able to carry it comfortably). It is very easy to shoot for a subcompact 45 and holds 10+1 of your favorite flavor of 45acp.

For size comparison here is a G19, G30, G36 and an XD 45 Compact, just a little shorter (3/4 inch I think) in the grip than your XD.
I agree that the G30 is more like the size of the G19 than the G36.
As far as the other pistols mentioned, I have owned the XDs45 and I currently have the Shield 45 and can say the XDs is a little, tiny bit smaller than the Shield 45. I can also say the Shield 45 is a little bit smaller than the G36. I was not a big fan of the XDs. I do like the trigger on the Shield 45.
If you are not roster exempt, I do not think the XDs or Shield 45 are a significant improvement over the G36 as far as size.

                    G19, G30, G36 and XD 45 Compact

                    G19 vs Shield 45

The G30SF and G36 are great, if you can find a G30S even better

I stuck with the 30sf. I had the 36 and the grip never felt quite as good as the 30sf. Concealability between the two was marginal - for me. Plus, with the 30sf, you're packing 10+1 in the attitude adjustment department.

The Glock 30S (which is a 30SF frame and 36 slide) is the best of the Glock 30 models, even better than Gen 4 30 IMO. The difference between the large blocky 30 slide and the slim 36 slide is well worth it. Find of of those (off roster) and don't look back.

                              Glock 30sf or 30S.
Carry a 13 round G21 mag as a spare. You’ll be go to go.
