After lots of rounds fired, I call still sell the glock for $450.

After lots of rounds fired thru the 2022 how much can you sell it for????
So just buy a used SP2022 for $400 to begin with and sell it for $400 when you're finished with it.

BTW, I think the SP2022 is a good choice for a first handgun. I would consider getting a used one as they are plentiful at good prices. They like the rest you are looking at are hardy. Very few people wear them out as most move on to something else as they progress.

Great choice. If you need a second person so you can rent, PM me. Nothing should stand in the way of a trip to the range.

SP2022 is the most underrated and maligned handgun in the market imo. I find that it is a bit more accurate and just as reliable than my Glock 19 though my G19 is my go-to because of the aftermarket support and I'm a tinkerer.

Recently took my SP2022 to the range and shot it along with my RMR'd G19...things haven't changed, I still found groups were a tad bit tighter on the SP2022. May have to get an RMR cut on the SP2022. Hahaha

              Good choice!

Said the grip texture. Still prefer my glocks. 2022 was/is a great gun. Never selling it cause it’s my dads and it’s sentimental, along with my 870. I’d sell my liver before giving up those guns.
(Not trying to be snappy at all btw)

2022 is just the training wheels for the 226. Good choice.

Good choice. FWIW, my first handgun purchase in years (after not owning anything for a while) was an SP2022 in .40SW.
Went in the the LGS with intent to buy a Glock, found out I could buy a Sig for less than a grand BNIB and was sold.
I do also own Glocks again as well.

I wish I would have know/thought about the SP2022 back when they are only ~$350ish. Probably would have bought a few. Ha.

Like the 226 is training wheels for a 1911?

Nah the trigger is so much sweeter in the 1911 its not even fair. Besides a 1911 vs a sig da/sa is like apples to oranges. Both are nice but are just plain out different.

So true, a much finer option imo. But still the sig pro is a nice gun to own in that price point. Like they said, "training wheels for the P226".

the single worst thing about glocks, are shooters that run around saying things like this ...

It is a volvo for god's sake. nobody cares.
yes, it works, yes, it is ubiquitous. yes, it isn't anything special, nor is the 2022.
They both do the job fine, but the Glock hype nonsense kills it.

Why someone wants to step on the OPs day like this is beyond me.

                                First Gun Purchase - Update

SP2022 is a great choice OP. Next step is to obtain lots of ammo and practice with it. Take some training classes if you have the opportunity.

I am guessing that your upcoming questions would be:

What is the best cleaning and lubrication?

What is the best weapon light?

Why I shoot low and to the left?

Just be prepared to decipher for tons of different responses.
