    Glock 29 10mm?

So, shot 10mm for the first time in AZ last month. Loved it.

I have a GSSF Coupon for Blue Line pricing that I want to use to get into 10mm - G20 or G29 are the main options given this situation.

Wanted to get some feedback on the G29 if there are any owners out there.

Obviously (size-wise) great for CCW/concealment but how would you rate it as a range toy?

Knowing me, I will likely end up with a full-size steel 10mm at some point as well... so a small part of me says "get the sub compact polymer striker fired 10mm out of the way first"...

Additional info, I have CCW'd out of state and not opposed to considering G29 for carry, but at the moment 10mm not necessarily first on my list (based on my limited experience shooting it).
Have shot G26 and G30 many times before - so not a stranger to the sub-compact Glock format, definitely prefer a pinky extension.

Ammo not an issue, venturing down the reloading path soon, as well as FFL03/COE holder.

    Here are some specific questions:
    - Does the G29 have any issues when loading +1, meaning do you have to slap the mag in? Or is it an easy push in w/ thumb?
    - How is the accuracy?
    - How is the beating on your hands? (I pee standing up btw)
    - Is there certain ammo I should stay away from w/ the shorter barrel?

    TIA.

    1. No, it's a glock. It loads +1 just fine, like all glocks
    2. Mechanical accuracy is fantastic. You planning on doing your part?
    3. Recoil is nothing considering most factory 10 is low power. Much more fun with buffalo bore or underwood.
    4. Shoot the hottest sheet you can find. There's nothing on the market that the 10mm glocks can't handle. My G20 has been fantastic shooting hot stuff, and I roll my own.

G29 is fun to shoot but not as fun as a full size. My brother in law has one and I have shot it several times. I also own a G20 myself. If this is truly for the range, get the full size out of the way first. As I mentioned, the only way to shoot 10mm is full power, and that's just more enjoyable without going to a subcompact. I've considered the 29 myself, but if I'm not serious about putting it on my permit (only 3 guns is a beach), then I'm not sure it does anything my 20 doesn't already do.

I’m trying to talk myself into one so I can just pretend it’s a fat G27 and feed it .40 until I get the cajones to run full powered 10mm thru it.

The size is just right, if just a bit thick.

I've wanted one for a while. More than usual at the moment.

I have one and love it... no beating of hands but I don’t care though...

Buying a 20 myself because it's the last n only blue label glock my local BL dealer had in stock. 29 is a softer shooter then the 20. I was going to just another 9mm glock at full price $515.00. because I really don't need a 10mm glock again but with the rumors around that the big bore Gen3 Glock going away for good. I think I will pick it up

Plus I hate that Blue Label Subcompact Glock's only come with 2 mags be 3 with the full/compact size

I own a G29sf. I was initially torn between the G20 or G29. After firing both, I was convinced that you couldn’t go wrong either way.

I have large hands and find the G29sf is easy to hold and control, even with hot 10mm Underwood Ammo. It may not be as pleasant to shoot as a G19, but I don’t find it punishing on the hands at all.

I purchased a Gen 4 G29 the last year that SSE was allowed. The intent was for CCW when hiking in bear country out of state for times when for whatever reason I do not wish to open carry.

The stock recoil spring is 17 lbs. I changed it out to one rated at 21 lbs to reduce the stress on the frame due to hot ammo. Even the tame 10 mm ammo cycles flawlessly.

I only use the OEM spring when I shoot .40 through it. I did buy a .40 conversion barrel but it will shoot .40 through the stock barrel also. It will not cycle with the heavier spring.

For CA, I use the Pearce +0 pinky extensions on the mags. It allows me to have a better grip. When out of state, I use the X-grip sleeve over the G20 mag most of the time I carry. It still conceals well for me and I have 15+1. The extra length allows me better control. Also have larger than average hands so I appreciate the extra area that I can hold onto.

The G29 is my favorite overall gun, both as a range toy and SD gun. If I could only have one, that would be it.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

I'm not a huge Glock guy, but they have their place. I also have a Delta and R1 Hunter. I bought my 29 to carry when hiking and fishing, but have also found it to be my most comfortable gun to carry while touring on the bike.

+1 takes a little more effort to seat the mag, but very little. I don't have to slap it home.

Accuracy is good and on par for a shorter-barreled gun. I shoot other compacts more accurately (slightly tighter groups on paper, fewer misses when shooting steel while moving), but that's just me.

The beating your hands will take is subjective and depends a lot on what rounds you shoot. Even hotter loads aren't hard to shoot for me.

As for ammo, find what you like and feed it to the gun. It's a Glock. I prefer to carry Buffalo Bore or Gold Dots in 200gr, but for pig hunting and target shooting, I'll hand-load 180s and 200s to near-max charge weights without any significant drop in accuracy. I don't shoot hand loads through my 29 much though.

Overall, it's a really good gun. Mine gets fired fairly often compared to others in the safe.

                        10mm

I own a Glock 20 and 29 . The both the 20 and 29 are extremely Solid shooters . Accurate and Zero issues .
I find Underwood to be the Best 10mm one could buy .
I recommend changing out the recoil Springs set up for a 21 or 22 lbs .
I also run 40s@w In both my 10mm no problems
The nice thing about the 29 is get the grip extensions and run a Glock 20 10 or 15 rd mag and have a full size grip . But still have the option of running the Short 10 rd 29 mag . For more concealed carry size Pistol.
