Is there even anyone who can spray the slide back to the stock gen 5 dlc coating? I really prefer the factory dlc finish. But I guess now the slide has been nitrite finish it’s stronger to support the rmr?

Here is an email I got today from Jon. The anxiety is starting to subside and that’s a blessing...

      “Hey Michael,

I am very sorry for all the hold ups.. I am working with Ion bond on getting everything sorted out. Everything is taking stupid long because I was not set up as a dealer and they don't normally coat one slide/part at a time. Again I am very sorry for all of the delays and I appreciate your patience while we get this figured out. They do currently have your slide and hopefully will be able to get it coated soon. ”

Oh boy getting a slide hot-rodded in a PITA! I had the same issue and it took.....TWO YEARS to get right. I mean I have bad buts, messed up coating, parts broken, sent to the wrong mailbox (USPS x2) wrong cuts. I will NEVER do that again.

So good luck OP. Poop does happen though so be patient.
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

If you plan on doing slide cuts and all that...its a better idea to just buy an aftermarket slide....price will end up being the same...

Got mine done with WetWerks, and am very happy with the work they did. Although it did take them a while.

If a shops good they will have a large backlog. If the shop has no backlog you should be skeptical.

I had just a rmr cut and no fancy coating from jager, took 3 weeks from me shipping to back home.

i hope it works out well for you.

I am going to assume your slide is f’d or missing and they’re hoping you just go away as they attend to the backlog of work they haven’t f’d up. At least that’s how I would feel with the original mess up and subsequent and obvious lack of urgency, transparency and failure to complete promised follow up communication on their part. A gauge of customer service and a man’s word is not when things are running as intended but when things go haywire and by this and the other thread, there’s no way in hell I would do business with them (too many other reputable operations). Sorry to see this and good luck.

Dude you don’t just spray on DLC coating. It’s a gas oven like vacuum. The machine to do this runs millions of dollars.... there are not many companies out there that do this in house do the cost of the machine.

The other issue with DLC and whoever they may be having apply it is it can tend to leave strange spots on the metal... those guys may be having an issue with the finish and applicator.

If it were me, I would get ahold of them and just ask If he mill work was done. If it has, tell them to just send the slide back to you. This will tell you a bit more on what the issue is. If you can get it back, might as well just get it Cerakoted and call it a day.

I do agree dlc looks the best and holds up best, but again... finding an applicator is not the easiest thing in the world.
