Front Sight Paint - Color Preferences?

    Hey Everyone,

I've noticed recently that I have a hard time seeing the white dot on the front sight of my Beretta 92FS. It wasn't a problem before, until I decided to go to another indoor shooting range with weaker lighting.

I decided to try painting the sight a semi-bright red, but that proved to be even more difficult to see. So now I am thinking of trying a fresh coat of either bright white or yellow. I wanted to ask you guys and see if you ever had a similar issue, and what color worked for you?

    Thanks.

I was having a similar issue.

I Used the Birchwood Casey brand Super Bright Fluorescent red.
    It helped a lot.
Still thinking about/researching some aftermarket sights, especially to replace those tiny dots on my CZ.

Name is Smith, but I am no gunsmith. Do own a boat and flown in small planes. Red is how you light instruments so that it effects night vision less.

If you want see a point in low light, need a color that will reflect the most available light: White/Optic Yellow.

        Not red.

Trigicon flourescent yellow works for me on pistol front sights. I use oil based Sharpie on rifle front posts with flourescent green at the base, flourescent yellow on the lower and middle post and orange at the top of the post. This helps me focus and track the front sight. (Note: it removes with alcohol so no need to worry about your 75 year old Winchester )

Nail polish. Don't like it, acetone or alcohol then try a different color.

Tennis ball yellow works for me.

Walgreens nail polish. SinfulColors..Snow Me White 101
Fill the depression so that the color reflects more light indoors.

                    White rear and white front

Black rear use neon orange matte finish front.

Cheap enough to try any combo.

                      I got this kit:

Check out the reviews. Lots of people using them for gun sights.

Tried a few different colors and decided the orange was best for me.

Green. Green paint that is the shade of green of U.S. Currency so you can be reminded how much money wasted on buying the paint and how much the green paint remover is going to cost in the near future.
