$30 Poor Man's Range Case Setup

OP, just as a preference, I wouldn't have put the Wilson Combat stickers on it, I'd prefer that people didn't know what was in it...less tempting. I'd try and find some boring company sticker or write something in paint pen like "Sewer gas test kit #14". or "Toilet snake".

I'm going to paint (Infectious Disease Test Kit) with neon orange Paint on mine. Or just put a Glock sticker on it, no one should touch it either way.

Cool. My advice is to take your time plucking the foam. Do not rush it as I don't think you can buy replacement foam for this. You will have to buy another case as it seems.

Go on Amazon and type in "case foam insert" and you get different sizes, types and prices.

The Hot tip on cutting foam for gun cases etc is to use an Electric Carving Knife.

It works really well and it is easy to get right.

Just an update. Sprayed a can and a half or so of Plasti Dip to seal the shape/form of the foam. Looks and feels more solid now eliminating the probability of the perforations of the foam to tear over use.

Lucky dog....The coupon has a disclaimer to say not valid on 3day parking lot sale. The sale is a 3day Spring/Parking lot sale.
To anyone trying to get that $6.00 off would not try to hard. Read the fine print on bottom of that 20% off coupon. $29.99 is a normal coupon price so I would not go out of my way today. They will be back on sale again.

Also note...Some cases have ONE large center foam.
Some have two thinner center foam as seen in ducatiti 2nd set of pictures.
You can see the line from top and bottom on foam.
What is better? Up to you.

OP that plasti dip makes for a real nice look.

I chose the two foam blocks instead of the one thicker one. Should give better ability for detail.

I use a husky tool case from Home Depot. I think I spend around $30 for it. I love it

Love this idea ! I just got a Case Club 5 gun a few months ago and I find it way better than the individual soft zippered cases. It seems someone forgets a gun at least once a month (yes, exaggeration but really ? how the hell does someone forget a gun at the range) at my shooting range based on e-mails from the range master. The fewer things to take up, the better. I also can look right in the case and see all 5 guns are there before closing it up and that way, it won't be me that forgets a gun.

Had I known about this before I would have gotten 2 of these, one for pistols and one for revolvers and still saved money.

Especially when the guns in the case aren't WC...
