    Glock Trigger

Lets talk about Glock trigger jobs. Here is what I've already done to mine. I've changed out the trigger spring, firing pin spring and firing pin safety spring for competition ones. Changed the connector to a 3.5 one. Done the at home 25 cent polish job on the parts that touch. Mine has a nice pull weight but I would rather have something more like a finely tuned single action pistol. Mine has a lot of creap which I don't really like. When I'm shooting it, I dont really seem to notice (which could be a bad thing) but I really notice when I'm dry firing it.

Here is my question. What aftermarket triggers have you guys tried? Has anyone used the Glockworx triggers and if so, what was your experience? I'm liking the idea of a Glockworx trigger but want to hear some reviews before spending the money. Here is the link to glockworx triggers

I use this gun for 3 gun and USPSA Limited class so I'm not worried about keeping the stock parts in.

Thanks for the links, I don't normally look at glock talk but I guess I'll have to start looking over there more now.

Is there anyone on calguns that has the glockworx trigger that wants to talk about it?

I've tried the Glockworx, didn't see much of improvement - tried the Lightning Strikes, a little better, and then found Vanek:

More expensive than Glockworx or LSP, but worth it.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

If you are going to SMM3G, come find me and try my glock trigger.
It's stock components with the springs you spoke of.
It's got two set screws added and I re-timed the drop safety.
Total travel shot-shot is around 1/8" at the trigger.
        It's really light too.
Guys that are used to 1911 triggers always like it.

Also, if you shoot at X3 (or Pala), in addition to Randall, seek out "Yar" on this board. He should be able to help you check out Glockworx triggers.

Thanks for the offer Randall but I won't be at Superstition. I'll be at work and If I get time at SWPL

I've talked with "Yar" about glocks before at matches. I'll have to see his latest trigger.

I would like to get rid of the takeup in my trigger but I don't know if its worth$150 bucks plus

Another thing I would reccomend if you didnt want to try the drop in trigger yet is an overtravel stop, it helps the trigger out quite a bit when it is adjusted correctly.

I can make most of the take-up and overtravel go away if you want to bring it over to me.
It won't be anything near $150.

I got to play with Yar's Open Glock the last time I was up at Norco. Im glad he gave me that opportunity. Suffice to say, while it was an improvement over stock, I didnt think the improvement warranted the additional expense over the OEM setup.

I mean, your statement nails it on the head. Some people just do not feel the trigger when they're shooting action pistol. I certainly don't. I personally think that how you drive the gun makes more difference than how crisp or mushy the trigger is.

Of course I'd like it to have great reset, be super light, crisp.. like a 1911, but to be honest, I dont think I'd be running stages any faster or getting better hits if this were the case.. At some point, I see the chase for the "ultimate trigger" as an exercise in diminishing returns..

                  YMMV of course..

The more I think about it the more I'm agreeing with you Voo. But its easier to blame the gun for that Mike or No Shoot than it is to blame yourself.
Its just kind of funny when shooting a 3 gun competition and the rifle and shotgun triggers are better than the pistol trigger.

I just need to get more range time which is hard to do right now.

                      hey cal3gun-

I started USPSA shooting with a P226, then a P226st, then an XD, then a G17, then finally my G34. So you might say I know a tiny* bit about equipment chasing..(dont get me started on lock time, ammo, springs..) Dennis Cruz (of JVDynamics) just sorta chuckled at me as I kept coming back to him with question after questionabout gear and going 'faster'... It was a moment of epiphany when i realized it really didnt make 'that' much difference what I was using.. He kindly reminded that he had stated this when he first started mentoring me years ago.. I had to capitulate that I did indeed remember the conversation.. I can't tell you too much info, though as I've been sworn to protect all the "GM Pro tips"..

ill say i feel its important to have a working gun setup to your preference and strong suits..but there's only really so much you 'actually' need..

as a minor sidenote, a buddy of mine who shot at Nationals this year spoke wtih Sevigny about his Production setup.. The gist of the conversation was that the OEM 3.5 connector + some minor polishing was very capable of being competitive...

I was able to dry fire Randall's Glock... I would say it will be very hard for an aftermarket trigger to beat his "tune up".
