Hehe. Anyway, does this mean i should re parkerize my gun?
I think you need to re parkerize ALL YOUR GUNS IMMEDIATELY!

Once rust gets started in the household there is no stopping it.

Also I would re parkerize the bed, the car, the wife, and the kids, else they get rusty too!

I bought this stuff at the last Cowpie gun show that promises to not remove blue while removing rust.

+1 on that.... I love the messy stuff & its a LOT less prone to melt away as easily as oil if the gun starts to heat.

After calling Springfield Armory and realizing there will be a charge, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I ordered the metal cleaner from http://www.big45metalcleaner.com/. I tried it very lightly and realized it might be a bit too abbrasive. I finally decided to go to the hardware store and pick up some steel wool. I picked up 0000, which was the finest I could find. At under 5 dollars, for a pack of god knows how many(it was alot), it was a steal. I went home and applied some WD40 and began to gently rub the rusted areas, with the steal wool. Guess what? IT WORKED! I am so happy! I solved the problem, by only spending 5 bucks. I recommend using steel wool 0000, with some WD40, to remove minor rusting, for anyone who has a parkerized firearm. Im not sure how well it works on other surfaces, but it didn't do anything to my parkerization.

Seriously, get some grease on her & get in the habit of checking her more regularly now.
