Orange County sight installer?

Any shop in OC that can quickly install sights on a G17 and a Shield? I just received some Ameriglo I-Dot Pros and would like to get them on my carry guns.

I have no idea who does this.. last time I had sights done was when I had a slide refinished.

An option to perhaps consider...i just mounted new sights on a Glock and it was incredibly easy.

Took me maybe 15 or 20 minutes of very judicious filing on the rear sight to get a perfect/seamless fit.

Some sights i'm told go on without any filing.

I used a non marring polymer punch and a regular hammer.

I was worried but it really came out great and cost me almost nothing extra.

I did my I-Dot Pros on a G34 by myself.....and I'm nowhere near a handy guy with tools

Brass hammer, nylon punch, a front sight hex wrench....got all from Amazon for cheap....C-clamped slide to a table and it worked fine. 15-20 minutes of actual work, after looking at YouTube vids for awhile.

Take it to RifleGear, OC Firearms, OC Armory, OC Guns or just about any gun shop can do it, and it should cost about $20-25 per pistol.

Or you can buy one of numerous Sight Installers devices on Amazon or eBay and do it yourself... and never need to take your pistol to anyone for sights. Site Installers are about $30-$60 ... they do go up to over $100, and they look nice but that's about it.

Just buy the tool from either amazon or midwayusa. It will last you life time.

Glock front sights are literally bolt on. You don't necessarily need the tool either, I had a nut driver in my box that worked fine.

What about aligning the rear sight? Without a pusher tool it seems like it would be guesswork..

I just eyeballed mine to line it up, making sure there was equal space on the sides. It shoots great. But you could tap it left/right at the range if needed.

Unless you have a Beretta PX4, I will suggest DIY for sight replacement, since it's quite easy and straightforward. Get a universal tool so it can work for multiple guns.

I have a pusher tool and front sight tool if you want to use it for an hour. That's how I got my night sights on my G26. For mechanical zero, I just eyeballed mine as well and used the "very scientific method" of comparing both sides using a toothpick.

For the shield...I'd recommend having a ship do it. Rear sights are difficult from what I've read on M&P forum.

Do what I did. Contact Myles at Ameriglo and tell him a friend of yours had his sights installed by them and youd like the same service. I think theyll do it for free if you pay for shipping.
