    Glock 17 RTF2?

I've always been a hammer fired kinda dude, today i handled a glock 17rtf 2 and was couldn't believe how good it felt in my hands. Way better than the normal grip. I swear I just told my self no more guns for a while since I just got this russian sks but man that piece felt solid. What do yall think about this one?

Its grip is indeed more positive than the regular gen3 texture. Ever so slightly slimmer than a normal gen3, too. It also doesn't have the slick side panels of the gen3. You'll have to decide if you like that or not. Since it is a 17, it's not as likely to be carried, but the texture is a bit abrasive on clothes. Nothing a light application of elbow grease with an emory cloth cannot fix...

Also I keep seeing the scalloped slide mostly in the rtf models. Do they come with the normal slide, I could have sworn that the one I handled today had the original type slide on it.

I've done full circle, and don't mind the new flavor of striker fired guns

I too had to handle the RFT2 after shooting at the range, loved the grip and compared to the gen3 G34, hated the grip and ended up getting it in a 17rtf2 for $499 + fees. Swapped sights to Vikcers/Wison I dot tritiums and OEM slide release like on the G34. It's accurate

It's currently my favorite pistol to shoot. Love the texture.

That is the only handgun that I own are Glock models with the RTF grips. Add to that the fish gill serrations and you have a winner

If you're talking CA compliant version, yes, it only comes with the fish-gill slides.

If you aren't talking CA compliant, get the Vickers versions of the 19 & 17. Those are all straight-slides with RTF2 frames and extra upgrades.

Definitely pick it up now, worst case scenario if you don't like the G17 RTF2, you re-sell it in a year for the same or higher price in CA. They are rare and there was a limited production run in October of this year after a 7 year hiatus.

you can get the RTF with straight serrations here in cali. Same price. Gun fighter Tactical in San Diego has a few of those ones left.

I'd love to have a RTF2 framed G19 but not cal guns prices

                    I agree. G19 RTF2 would be perfect.

I've handled a friends rtf2 g22 on occasion. I must say they feel quite good in the hand. With the recent re-release, I may have to pick up a g19 before the end of the year.

Wanted to let you guys know I found a glock 17 od for $470 plus tax and fees. Put it on layaway and will then have the frame stippled or just get the talon grips for it.

                          Congrats, good price too.

Have it stippled by a custom shop or someone you really trust. Get the "micro-dot" stippling if it's an option. Anything else looks sloppy and rushed. Not just the grip should be stippled but along the top-part of the frame ahead of the takedown lever so you can stack your support-hand thumb along the side sort of like a gas pedal on a 1911 race gun.

CA makes no distinction between slide serrations. As long it's black and RTF2, it's good-to-go. That includes a Vickers RTF2 in black. It's one of the rare cases where the roster is not specific enough, and works in our favor.

The wording is "17RTF2 (Black) / Steel, Polymer". No SKU or MPN associated with it.
