Gen 3s are going pretty cheap these days. Decent night sights, Pearce grip extension (might pinch), and a Talon grip wrap and you’re good to go. Prefer the OD green model myself.

If you can get a Gen 4 get a Gen 4, if you can't get a Gen 3. Pretty easy.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

Amen, I just picked up a OD 26 last month and a FDE this month.

I agree with above, the Pierce grip pinches my finger. But I actually find the 26 and 27 quite comfortable without extension and my hands aren't small, I can palm a basketball.

Unless you are roster exempt, or find a super deal, the Gen 3 will be less expensive to buy. Put the savings towards buying ammo and range fees.

My two cents... and that's what my comment is worth...

Got two Gen 3s (26 and a 19) and love'm. My only gripe is the mag release. Needs to be bigger like a 4. This has been my solution by Lone Wolf:

I think the only difference between Gen 3 and Gen 4 sub-compact Glock pistols is the larger mag release and grip extension on the Gen 4 models. The slides are probably the same.

I have Gen 3. If I could have got a Gen 4 for close to the same price as a Gen 3, I would have got the Gen 4.

You can pick up a used Gen 3 for $400-$450. It will easily be $250-$300 cheaper than a Gen 4.
