    Be careful. I broke the breech block in a Luger. See here:



    If it's a family heirloom and a war trophy I would think twice. I have shooter Lugers and collector Lugers, the collector grade ones will never see the range.

      So where are the guys who say, "it's only a gun, beat it like a rented mule"?

      If I had a nice Luger, I'd keep it in my safe too. Not too fun to shoot, but nice to hold and marvel at its historical significance.

        I test fired a family heirloom Luger over 20 years ago just to see how it shoots, and the loading button on one of my magazines fell off at the range, and I never found it.

        it's a safe queen now, nothing to prove, but I know it's functional since it's been test fired.
