    Flying with a Glock

Have to take a business trip to LA and am contemplating taking my Glock. Has anyone packed their pistol in the Glock tupperware or another case that came with your gun and will it pass TSA muster? Or will they give me a hard time about the case? The case will be locked of course and it says on TSA's website that the case the gun was purchased in *may* not be adequate. Wondering if anyone has had real life experience with this. Flying Southwest if that matters. Thanks

I flew Southwest last year with two pistols in a Springfield box that my Range Officer came in. I just took the holster and mag pouches out to make room for the second pistol. Two locks and I was good to go.

They scrutinize you much more when you bring a cheap weapon like a glock.
The sheriff will most likely be waiting for you at the baggage terminal to make sure you arent a hitman.

Warning Glocks are not rated for high altitude.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

I am in El Paso duck and Quail hunting and flew in yesterday from LAX with my browning 12 gauge O/U. The TSA guy said thanks for not flying with this decent firearm instead of a plastic glock trash(LOL) No problem with almost any firearm OK as long as you are not a brig bunny . By the way hunting sucked today.

I have a seperate lockable case that has a built in lock with key and fits two small pistols. I think it was $30 at bass pro. Never had any issues flying with a glock or any other gun for that matter.

Follow the rules and flying with a firearm is no problem.

I would take a step back and ask if you need the firearm in LA? Not really a place to carry or at least hard to do properly.

After all a Glock is so much different than any other handgun.

                      It is perfection after all.
If you flew with a 1911, the air pressure would likely collapse the MiM parts.
Polymer is more flexable so that isnt a concern with glocks.

You mean, so they can steal it? And then claim they didn't? And then snicker while you file a claim for recovery? I trust the TSA about as much as I do the knot head in the White House. Good luck.

I've done probably 25 flights (+/-) with Glock tupperware, secured through the handle with adjustable Master lock.
