I own all three, force me to choose one and the choice is easy. All things considered, if you find a better handgun than a G19 please let me know.

G34 for home defense and range
Get the G26 if you carry....although I prefer the Shield and PPS, cuz the G26 is a little chubby

OP, the answer to your question(s) is yes. You're on the right track and correct on all counts.
People can have their preferences. But a longer/heavier slide helps with both recoil control, felt recoil, and provides longer more accurate sight picture.
The 19 is hair easier to conceal, but you also loose a hair off the sight picture/weight/grip surface area (which hurts control a little).
The 26 is a lot easier to conceal...but you loose a lot of perks you get from the other two larger guns as well...making it harder to shoot well with it.
I've owned all three. I like all three. I currently own a 17 and 26. Sold the 19 a while back. Would not mind picking one up in the future again. The 17, the oldest of the bunch being a Gen 2 is my favorite. Because it is the easiest most enjoyable to shoot.Comment

Like previously said, barrel length and sight radius is irrelevant at pistol distances 25 yds or less.
Get the one you shoot the best.
Keep in mind magazine is also irrelevant because all the smaller sizes will fit any larger magazine. For example I have a Glock 19 and all the extra mags I have are for the 17. That way I can use the mags in any Glock 9mm model.
Personally I would skip the 17 and choose between the 19 or 26 based on which one I shot best. If you want a fullsize I would highly recommend the 34.Last edited by Tere_Hanges; 08-24-2017, 10:30 PM.CRPA and NRA member.
Note that those who have repeatedly expressed enough vile and incoherent content as to render your views irrelevant, have been placed on my ignore list. Thank you for helping me improve my experience and direct my attention towards those who are worthy of it. God bless your toxic little souls.Comment

^^^^^I support the above ^^^^^Sol is right. I have the 19, 20, 21, 34, 35, and will eventually have them all. Love the Glocks. In the beginning, I was never into Glocks but after I had to carry one at work, I am definitely a Glock fanboy nowsigpicComment

The 26 is also notoriously accurate due to the rigidity of the barrel... not sure whats notorious about it... I think mas ayoob might have said that somewhereComment

For home defence though, I might choose the 17 over the 26 because imagine some scenario where the bad guy and you are somehow fighting over the gun in your hand ... with the 17 (or 19), you at least have a nice firm grip with all fingers around the gun. But on the other hand, you should practice shooting so that he DOESN'T get that close!
Still MAYBE something to consider/ I dunno, just using my imagination if the choice between all three was equal (ie if all three grips are fine with OP)==================

No one else's hands or skills can decide for you. Lots of people love the 19 and some prefer the 17 or 34. If you don't shoot them first to decide, it is a mistake unless you are planning on buying them all. The last one I bought after many many Glocks was the 26. The capacity of the 26 definitely fits CA, and that mentality of "why have a big gun if it has neutered mags?". That won't make you feel better if you don't like to shoot it.Comment

I have all 3 (and then some), they are all good.
If you plan to have only one - g19Comment

It all depends on purpose and preference. In general, recoil will be less the longer the barrel. Longer sight radius will help with accuracy at longer distances. For the mag capacity, I've accepted that we are stuck with 10 rounds, so it isn't a factor I consider as I'm not law enforcement. If I was law enforcement, I'd choose the Glock 17 over the other 2 due to no need to conceal, higher capacity, shooting longer distance, less recoil, and still light enough to carry all day. If range toy shooting at shorter distances, it can be any of the 3, so that's purely preference. However if no purpose, one thing I will say is see which one feels most comfortable in your hands and go with that one.Last edited by smak28; 08-25-2017, 3:41 PM.sigpicComment
