CORE is the Competition Optics Ready Equipment version for an optic. With the CORE version changing the striker block is a mere allen screw. On the non-CORE you have to push the rear sight out to replace.

The slide will just require the striker block not the full kit. Apex calls it the Ultimate Striker Block kit.
