CA, one gun every 30 days?

I was looking at the State of Calif website at guns information and it mentioned although there is no limit to the number of guns you can own you can only buy one every 30 days. Now when I bought my first gun last weekend I was thinking of getting a 9MM also and the shop seemed perfectly happy to sell it to me at that time.

Am I missing something here? Can you only but one gun every 30 days in Calif?

1 handgun every 30 days (no limit on PPT tranfers though)

no limit on long guns, except your wallet

i believe you can "buy" it

      but...

you would have to wait 30 days since your last DROS to DROS the new handgun and then another 10 days to pick it up...

so pay now and wait a total of 40 days till you got the gun...

40 days is hardly a wait
I've got 2 months to go on a del-ton upper, 1-4 month wait on a Beowulf upper, and a 2 month wait on varget.

You can also buy it via Private Party Transfer within 30 days; the 1 in 30 limit does not apply to PPTs.

Before the laws changed it was quite common for a collector to come in and buy a few handguns at once. I always believed that this law served only one purpose, to limit the collecting of gun.

It's amazing what we've allowed our public servants to get away with.

There is still a collector exemption, I use it all the time and have 3 new handguns in DROS right now. Most people (and FFLs) don't know it exists until someone like me points it out to them.

The collector needs to have the California Certificate of Eligibility (C.O.E.) and have a C&R FFL. The FFL just needs to fill out one extra form (ATF FORM 3310) and fax it to the feds to inform them of the multiple handgun sale.

Didn't the law only state that you were allowed to buy 5 or 6 handguns per year?
